The reclaimed graphic tee is a labor of love to give unwanted tee shirts a second lease on life. Often I’d be scouring the thrift store bins and notice a plethora of shirts printed single use or unfavorable slogans (“Relay For Life 2009,” “Johnson Family Reunion 2019,” “Drinks Well With Others,” ect.) These shirts are usually barely worn and in great condition, so I began dying them and patching over the existing graphics with my own designs. It is my hope that by replacing the unwanted designs with art prints, they will be worn, loved, and stay out of the landfill!
The patch is hand printed on a discarded black cotton tee shirt and then machine sewn to the base shirt with organic cotton thread using a secure overlocking stitch.
